Marcelo Montaner assumed the role of Undersecretary of National Defense
Last Tuesday, Marcelo Montaner was appointed the new Undersecretary of National Defense. During his inauguration ceremony, the head of the ministry, Armando Castaingdebat, specified some of the results obtained during the current administration and acknowledged the Government’s commitment to strengthening the Armed Forces, as well as to actions in favor of access to housing solutions for military personnel.
In his speech, Minister Castaingdebat listed some of the achievements obtained and yet to be achieved during this administration, including the delivery of housing solutions to members of the three forces. In this regard, he specified that, during the remainder of the year, more than 200 housing solutions will be delivered.
He also said that the ministry is working to transform the facilities of the Toledo Military School into the largest sports center in the country, through interaction with various state institutions.
After assuming the position of Undersecretary, Montaner promised to collaborate with the administration, and expressed that “the country’s service cycle is a permanent honor.” In addition, she pointed out that she will work, among others, on two relevant axes, such as access to housing for military personnel, and the Elsie project, which implements strategies so that “more women participate in peacekeeping missions” of the United Nations.
