This is in addition to various actions undertaken by the SAT so far this year. From January to June 2024, several actions were carried out 181 reviewswith an estimated value of seized merchandise of 1.6 billion pesos, of which 62 consisted of quick home visits, with seizures of merchandise from the sectors of boats, machinery, furniture, footwear, electronics, textiles, automotive, among others, with an approximate value of 1.19 billion, reported the tax authority.
The remaining 119 inspections consisted of MoviSAT operations on highways, seizing merchandise worth 420 million pesos from the machinery, footwear, clothing, electronics, textiles, toys, automotive and metallurgy sectors.
As part of these actions, contemplated in the 2024 Master Plan, the SAT installed 91 checkpoints on the country’s main highways where the largest flow of foreign merchandise has been identified, which generates fiscal presence in 53% of the national territory and has allowed the seizure of merchandise for an estimated value of 2,000 million pesos so far in 2024.
