Preschool, primary and secondary school students will return to classes to start the new 2024-2025 school year on Monday, August 26.

Are there classes on the last Friday in August?

According to the official calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) it establishes that There are classes on Friday, August 30th and on this occasion there will be no Technical Council Friday.

The official basic education calendar consists of 190 days.

The same document establishes that a week before, from Monday 19 August to Friday 23 August, an intensive phase of the Technical Council will be held. In addition, on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August, the intensive workshop will be aimed at personnel with management functions.

What are the School Technical Councils?

The SEP defines the School Technical Council (CTE) as basic education meetings (preschool, primary and secondary) that take place prior to the start of the school year, as well as on the last Friday of each month.

The school principal and teaching staff participate in these meetings with the aim of proposing and implementing common decisions aimed at addressing problems, academic achievements and pedagogical needs of students.
