The Minister of Labor and Employment, Luiz Marinho, stated this Monday (12) that the population’s greater consumption capacity influences new employee hiring by businesspeople. “Many people talk about how to create jobs, but there is no miracle if the people do not have the consumption capacity,” he said in the morning, in São Paulo, during the opening of the Employment Campaign, an initiative that offers 20 thousand vacancies in several areas.
At the opening of the event, held at the headquarters of the São Paulo Commercial Workers’ Union, the president of the organization and of the General Workers’ Union (UGT), Ricardo Patah, said that the initiative to offer more than 20,000 jobs in various areas and professional training courses is a direct response to unemployment. Minister Luiz Marinho emphasized that workers’ search for better employment conditions is a positive sign of the economy’s recovery.
The low temperature in the early hours of this Monday in São Paulo was not an obstacle for job seekers, who formed a line at the location. In June, the capital of São Paulo reached 4.89 million formal jobs, 3.52% above the number registered in the same period last year, according to data from the General Registry of Employed and Unemployed Workers (Caged) of the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
The Job Fair is an initiative of the federal government and the UGT, and brings together unions and businesspeople from various areas. There are a variety of job offers and training courses are also offered.
Opportunity
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN) and the Ministry of Labor and Employment, to increase female participation within companies, there are specific initiatives, such as 20 scholarships at a security guard training school with an extension to armored vehicles from North to South of the country, offered to women by Tecban. Applications are open until September 20.
