In Daniel 2:48 we see the great Nebuchadnezzar recognize a young man filled with the Spirit of God:
“Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many splendid gifts, and made him governor over the entire province of Babylon and chief ruler over all the wise men of Babylon.” The most adverse and disadvantageous conditions did not prevent God’s purpose for Daniel, politician, counselor of the royal court and above all prophet of the Most High God. He was never contaminated by Babylonian philosophies, his heart was attached to the divine commandment, his ethics and his worldview were not corrupted by the implacable imperial system.
God can do more with one consecrated man than with a misguided majority. A man dead to self is alive to receive all the wisdom of God!
