Andrés Caleca denounces passport cancellation because the government “feels like it”

Andrés Caleca said that the government of Nicolás Maduro invalidated his passport without any justification. Meanwhile, journalist Dayana Krays, who was detained for a few hours on August 3, also denounced the cancellation of her passport.


Andres Caleca, Former candidate in the opposition primaries and former president of the CNE, reported that Saime annulled his passport.

Through the social network X, this Sunday, August 11, Caleca said that the government of Nicolás Maduro invalidated the document without any justification.

“Just like that, without warning or protest, because they feel like it, because they feel like it: just to screw with it,” Caleca said in a post in which it can be seen that the expiration date of his passport was October 10, 2032.

Following the presidential elections on July 28, the cancellation of passports of activists, political leaders and journalists, among other sectors, has been recorded. This Sunday, the journalist Dayana Krays, who was detained for a few hours on August 3, also reported the cancellation of her passport.

“I can’t get my ID card (I’m a foreigner), I can’t renew my passport (it’s cancelled). I’m attaching proof so they don’t say it’s a show,” Krays said on social media X.
