Venezuelan fugitive Juan Guaidó was publicly harassed while participating in a conference at the University of Oregon, Portland, in the United States (US).
A university student called the extremist opposition leader a “thief” and a “traitor” for his criminal actions against Venezuelan state resources abroad, which were seized or confiscated under the illegal interim government that Guaidó led between 2019 and 2022.
“You are a thief, where is the money you stole from all the Venezuelans?” the woman shouted in front of the audience in the auditorium, as shown in a viral video on social media.
“Where is the money you stole when you sold Citgo to the US government?” the young woman said. She also stressed that the two billion dollars in gold that Guaidó embezzled from the Venezuelan treasury could have been used to solve food and housing needs in the South American country.
“You should be ashamed. How much did Donald Trump pay you to betray the Venezuelan people?” the student admonished.
Since April 2023, Guaidó has been in Miami, United States, with his family. In the southern Florida city, he plays tennis and makes statements in the media to attack the government and people of Venezuela. It is also unclear what the former deputy’s means of support is, however, in recent years the country’s Prosecutor’s Office has revealed evidence that implicates him in embezzlement, terrorist plans, corruption, and assassination attempts against the head of state, Nicolás Maduro.
