Punta Cana, La Altagracia.- The Federation of Cooperatives of the Northeast (Fecoopnordeste) inaugurated this weekend its fifth congress under the theme “A new cooperative movement facing a new economic reality, rethinking our business model”, with the aim of raising the knowledge and training of cooperative leaders and delegates.
Within the framework of the activity, David Polanco Estrella, president of Fecoopnordeste, called on the sector to develop initiatives where the products and services of cooperatives are increasingly oriented towards contributing to the integral development of their associates and communities.
“To be relevant and a trend-setter in business, it is not enough to have cutting-edge technological tools, or to offer the best prices and fast services, but you also have to have a positive impact on people’s emotions; it is not about selling them services, it is about providing them with solutions, giving them the best experience,” he said.
Polanco Estrella also stressed that “nothing gives people more satisfaction than when they feel cared for, loved and respected. This is how cooperatives should make our members feel, but we do not say this as a marketing strategy to attract followers, rather this is our essence, to satisfy needs, and these needs are not always economic, human beings need to feel valued.”
The conclave took place on August 2, 3, and 4 at a hotel in Punta Cana, in the province of La Altagracia, with the participation of national and international experts, with the main speaker being the president of ACI World, Dr. Ariel Guarco.
