There will be showers due to tropical waves

Prevén nublados y aguaceros para este domingo

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) reported that from early Sunday morning the sky will be cloudy and there will be scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms in the east, northwest and southwest, associated with the passage of a tropical wave.

During the afternoon, these precipitations are expected to intensify, generating clouds with heavy downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind over the northeast, southeast, Central Mountain Range and border areas.

This weather condition will particularly affect Greater Santo Domingo, San Cristobal, La Romana, La Altagracia, Samana, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, Monte Plata, among others.

During the current summer season, when high temperatures prevail, the agency recommended that the population mitigate the effects of heat by avoiding exposure to the sun between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for long periods.

Also, drink enough fluids and wear light, light-colored clothing.

Also, stay in cool or ventilated places, and pay special attention to children and the elderly, who are more susceptible to high temperatures.

Tomorrow, Monday, there will be threats of rain in various locations along the Caribbean coast and other nearby areas, with cloudy developments with scattered showers, thunderstorms and gusts of wind due to the cloudy remnants of the tropical wave.
