The President of the Republic, Luis Abinadersaid this Saturday that Marileidy Paulinogold medal winner at the Paris 2024 Olympic Gamesis a national pride and a paradigm of Dominican youth.
In this regard, he called on young Dominicans not to put limits on their aspirations, regardless of the area in which they want to develop, and to this end he assured them that they will have the greatest possible support from the government.
“I have always said that Dominican youth should have no limits on what they aspire to, and that is the example of Marileidy, and I repeat that not only in sports,” said the president.

The president stated that the Dominican athlete, Marileidy Paulino, is a national pride because she not only won gold at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and was crowned the new queen of the 400 meters, but also because she broke the Olympic record with 48.17 seconds.
Abinader said that he always saw the race with confidence because the Dominican athlete felt sure that she would be the winner and that he hopes to be able to welcome her soon.
He considered that the Dominican people have to applaud this great feat and added that he has received calls from presidents of other countries to congratulate him for Marileidy’s great work.
President Abinader expressed himself in these terms when approached by the press, at the conclusion of the inauguration of the remodeled School of Fine Arts from Santiago.
