The Third Preparatory Investigation Court of San Román declared founded the request for preliminary detention for a period of 72 hours against the former police officer, Elis Ronald Fuentes Quispe (32), who is investigated for the alleged crime of femicide against his partner, Edith Mamani Coila.

In the early hours of August 3, the woman’s body was found in her room located in the district of San Miguel. After the first proceedings, the authorities indicated that the The author of the crime would be his partner, who allegedly beat the woman to death in front of her two children, aged 1 year, 11 months and 5 months.
It was not until August 8 that the accused appeared at the police station, so the prosecutor in charge of the case requested the Court to grant him preliminary detention in order to complete the proceedings. The Judge declared the request well-founded.
It is also known that the Former police officer, in a written statement, admitted to having assaulted his partner until causing death. “I apologize to my children and all my family for everything that happened”he would have pointed out.
They imprison him for another crime
However, Fuentes Quispe was already wanted by the justice system before committing the crime. He had a judicial order for preventive detention of 18 months for the alleged crime against public health in his modality of promoting Illicit Drug Trafficking (IDT).
Due to this request, the subject was transferred to the Juliaca city prison to comply with the judicial order. Meanwhile, Mamani Coila’s relatives demand justice and ask for life imprisonment.
