The sanitation works in the city of Juan Lacaze began in 2020, and were due to be completed in two years. Four years have passed and the streets are split in two, with the asphalt removed. There is a feeling of disgust in the community.
Of the 27 kilometers planned, for which trenches were dug in the middle of the streets, about 9 kilometers have been completed in four years.
The mud, the dust, the difficulties in transit, have exhausted the patience of the people of Lacaz and on repeated occasions, they have called the authorities of Ose, the mayor Carlos Moreira, and the company Teyma that is in charge of the work. The answer has always been that the work will advance, but the months and years pass and the progress of the work is not very successful.
The government has repeatedly announced that clean-up work will be carried out in 61 towns in the interior of the country, including, in addition to Juan Lacaze, Nueva Helvecia and Nueva Palmira, Colonia Valdense, Ombúes de Lavalle, and Tarariras. The work is stalled in Juan Lacaze, and if it is started in other towns it will be difficult to complete it in this five-year period.
