Traffic inspectors from the Provincial Municipality of Chanchamayo arrested a man accused of stabbing a person in the El Óvalo market in La Merced. The incident occurred in the afternoon, when a man in an apparently drunken state was pointed out by the merchants as the aggressor. Thanks to the quick intervention of the inspectors, the individual was unable to escape from the scene.

Both the attacker and the victim were transferred to the Demarini hospital and later to the La Merced police station for the corresponding investigations.
The injured man has been identified as Alfredo Felices Guerra, 59, who was immediately admitted to the emergency room of Demarini Hospital.
According to medical reports, Felices has penetrating injuries to the chest and abdomen, as well as an injury to the pericardium caused by a sharp weapon.

He is currently under observation. Meanwhile, the attacker, identified as Julio César Guerrero Sucuitana, 48, also has a wound on his face and is in police custody. So far, the motives that led to the attack are unknown.
