Junín: Coercive executor attacked and mayor threatened while preventing land usurpation

The coercive executor of the municipality of Huamancaca Chico, Chupaca province, Efraín Medina, suffered an assault on the face, while preventing the land near the Mantaro River from being illegally usurped. The mayor of the district, Raphael Paúcar Barragán, also reported being the victim of death threats.

In an interview with a local media outlet, Mayor Raphael Paúcar identified Zamarro and Chavón as those responsible for the threats. “We are going to state that everything that happens from today on will be the responsibility of Eduardo Ramiro Baltazar Torres (Zamarro) and Eleasar Clemente Ávila (Chavón),” he said.

The two people pointed out by the mayor were also the ones who hit the official in the face. Both were arrested by the National Police and taken to the Chupaca police station.

The mayor stressed that they will continue with the reorganization of the marginal strip, and also assured that the documentation that the supposed owners have is false, which is why they are proceeding to demolish the walls with which they fenced the land.
