Venezuelan opposition leader kidnapped by Maduro regime agents

SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- Officials of the Mexican regime Nicolas Maduro They kidnapped the head of the Comando Con Venezuela in the state of Portuguesa and coordinator of the Vente Venezuela party in that entity, María Oropeza.

Oropeza was forcibly taken away on Tuesday night by police officers General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) of the Chavista regime. The officers entered his home after breaking down the door and without a warrant, while Oropeza was broadcasting live on Instagram.

“They are entering my home arbitrarily, there is no search warrant, they are destroying the door. I am not a criminal, I am just another citizen who wants a different country, and God and the Virgin always accompany me,” she said in the video.

The broadcast also includes the repressive agents asking Oropeza to walk “quickly” and “cooperate.”

The lawyer and opposition member had previously criticized the so-called “Operation Tun Tun” which represents “political persecution against Venezuelans who defend the truth.”

Opposition leader María Corina Machado denounced the kidnapping of her ally in Portuguesa and explained that Oropeza “has been fundamental in the organization and unity of citizens” in this Venezuelan plains entity.

The regime’s own agents published a video of the arrest on their social networks, to which they added Freddy Krueger music and edited it to mock Oropeza and terrorize the population.

“One, two, Freddy is coming for you… Three, four, you better close the door… Five, six, get your crucifix”…, is heard in the new version.

Opposition leader María Corina Machado denounced the forced detention on Wednesday and wrote: “She is the Coordinator of Comando Con Venezuela in Portuguesa and has done an extraordinary job uniting and organizing the citizens of her state. The regime has just taken her by force and we do not know where she is.”

Numerous organizations from civil society, including Ladies of Liberty (LOLA), They demanded the release of Oropeza and the end of the persecution.

For his part, the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, joined the call for the young woman’s freedom and asserted that the arrest “adds to the file of complaints of crimes against humanity by the regime” of President Nicolás Maduro.

“This repressive irrationality must be stopped now,” he said, adding that the Venezuelan government has made more than a thousand arrests during protests over the election results.
