One of the urgent calls that is currently being made to the National Government is to launch as soon as possible a reactivation plan that, in the face of the slowdown that has been felt for several months, allows the recovery of important sectors such as construction, commerce and industry, which are heading for a year with negative figures, while areas such as unemployment and tax collection are also a cause for concern.
Among the signs that things are not going well are also the economic growth data for 0.6% for 2023 and 0.7% for the first quarter of 2024, as well as unemployment that has been in double digits since March and is already hitting with greater intensity to the main cities, which are the last to feel the ravages.

The director of Dapre, Laura Sarabia, said that within the Government they have already begun to work to reverse this trend, starting by recognizing the failures and faults, especially in issues such as budget execution and strengthening investor confidence and the teamwork that must always exist between the public sector and private companies.
“It is a priority for the President to accelerate investment projects and do not remain stagnant because of the signature of an official. We not only have to design projects but also execute them,” said Sarabia, who also clarified that the fact that “the popular economy is prioritized does not mean that the formal economy should be shut down. There is a prioritization but we need an ally in the formal economy for the transfer of knowledge, support is needed and to work hand in hand.”
A space for dialogue
