Four fishermen were rescued by the Colombian Navy after being left adrift due to a failure in your boat’s engine in the department of CrashedIt happened when they were fishing near the Utría National Natural Park, in the department.
The search and rescue operation began when the Port Captaincy of Bahia Solano received an alert of the situation. Relatives of the fishermen managed to obtain the last coordinates of the boat, called “The Black Beast“Immediately, a Rapid Reaction Unit (URR) from the Bahía Solano Coast Guard Station was deployed, which began the search in the area.
After approximately three hours of operation, the sailors located the boat with the four men on board.The fishermen were immediately transferred to the municipality of Bahía Solano, where the naval health personnel provided them with medical attention, confirming that they were in good health.
According to statements by the fishermen, they had set sail from the El Valle district in the early morning, and after several hours of navigation, the engine of their boat failed near the Bahía Cupica sector.
Despite their efforts to solve the problem, they failed to do so.. So they contacted a relative, who alerted the authoritiess, thus facilitating their rescue.
It is not the most recent in a series of rescues carried out by the Colombian Navy in the region. So far this year, They have rescued 67 people who have suffered emergencies in the Colombian Pacific.
The Navy continues its commitment to safeguard human life at sea. It urges residents of the region and tourists to carry communication equipment, life jackets and to comply with all necessary permits before setting sail.
