Mulino: «I will not allow bribery in any institution in the country»

President José Raúl Mulino, in his Thursday press conference, indicated that the relationship between the firefighters and their construction permit department is terrible, from bribes to irresponsible bureaucracy, “they have very little merit left.”

His statements come after reporting through his “X” account that he was following up on cases of requests for bribes for permits in the Santiago de Veraguas Fire Department where three people have already been identified in these events, “The firefighters are once again a problem in these matters. I will soon appoint the new Chief and he must put things in order, if the current ones do not do so already,” wrote the president.

At the press conference, President Mulino said: “Either they straighten out or we will have to do what Martin Torrijos did, intervene them as we received him in 2009, intervened, and it took a year and a half to lift the intervention, that is not the way things are going with me, so I hope that within their sound judgment they act and resolve.”
