Luis Duke, from the Vamos party, spoke about the nominations for Comptroller and Deputy Comptroller of the Republic. He pointed out that with the current Comptroller, the worst in history in his opinion, he learned what should and should not be in this position.
Duke said that the position of Comptroller requires an independent person, not only independent of political parties but also of judgment, who knows the financial sector, an accountant, economist, industrial engineer or administrator.
Deputy Duke explained the timeframes for receiving application documents for Comptroller and the selection process in the National Assembly.
He criticized the fact that deputies do not have the opportunity to question or interview candidates for Comptroller and Deputy Comptroller, so there is no way to corroborate what is on their resume.
