Santo Domingo.-The National District Attorney, Rosalba Ramosannounced that he will remain in office for a second term, after obtaining “sufficient points” in the competition contest.
“Today, with humility and joy, I receive the notification of my confirmation as the Principal Public Prosecutor of @FiscaliadelDN for having obtained the sufficient score that qualifies me for a second term,” she posted. Ramos on his social network X account (formerly Twitter).
“I confirm my commitment to continue working tirelessly in the pursuit of crime and the search for justice in the courts of the Dominican Republic,” added the capital prosecutor.

Ramos has held the position since 2020, replacing the current deputy attorney general, Jenny Berenice Reynoso.
Previously, prosecutors were appointed by the President of the Republic. For some time now, interested parties have had to participate in a competition run by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) through the Superior Council of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (CSMP).
Prosecutors are appointed for a four-year term and receive periodic evaluations to ensure that they carry out their duties effectively and ethically.
