Santo Domingo.-In response to complaints from residents of the Isabela de Arroyo Hondo highway and with the aim of bringing them peace of mind, the City Council of the National District has decided to inspect the status of the company “Mudanzas Shipping”, which creates chaos with its vans when dismantling shipments.
“The ADN will proceed to carry out the inspection of the site, and will compare this situation with the approved plans mentioned above, in addition to requesting the construction license issued by the Ministry of Public Works at that time (now MIVED), which will be duly studied in the face of the non-objection of land use and preliminary project.”
In relation to the frequent problems of obstruction to traffic caused by the moving company, the council said that the evidence of the removal they will carry out will be used in the process of appropriate sanction, if it is appropriate, and in case the owner does not comply, they will submit him to the Municipal Court.
Given the unorganized urban growth that Greater San Domingo and other cities in the country are experiencing, hundreds of businesses are illegally established in residential areas, changing the use of the land and turning the coexistence between neighbors into a “hell.” In addition to complicating traffic, as is the case of “Mudanzas Shipping,” restaurants, car dealers, schools and other businesses congest the roads due to the lack of parking; the same goes for churches due to noise pollution.
Urban architect Stephane Gutiérrez, from the ADN Urban Planning Department, said that historically that is the entity empowered to determine the use of land relative to the activities that take place within the buildings of the territory.
“Since 2019, we have had the Territorial Planning Plan that was approved with the idea of having a general criterion of what development approach is desired for the entire National District,” he explained.
From this plan emerged the municipal ordinances, laws or regulations that govern what can or cannot be done in the territory.
Last year, this gave rise to the ordinance governing the F-02 conservation polygon, which governs the composite polygon that includes Altos de Arroyo Hondo and all related areas.
