Junín Regional Government regrets that some delegations did not participate in the Bicentennial

Following the statement by the Provincial Municipality of Junín, in which they expressed their indignation at the exclusion of some social groups from the Bicentennial celebration, the Regional Government of Junín issued a statement in which it regrets this event.

In a statement, the province of Junín described the incident as an outrage and an act of discrimination against local authorities, ecclesiastical authorities, peasant communities, educational institutions and citizens, for excluding them from the ceremony for the Battle of Junín and Ayacucho, in this regard they requested a statement from the State and the Region.

Regional government response

The Regional Government of Junín issued a statement explaining that the organization of the entire event was the responsibility of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Culture and that the regional government was limited to providing logistical support.

According to the statement, the ministries in charge of the organization held meetings on August 4 and 5 with the authorities, representatives of the delegations and the mayor of the province, where they presented the program of the ceremony. In addition, they mention that the responsibility lies with the institutions that failed to register on time, as established by the Ministry of Defense.
