How much has the Welfare Pension increased and how much will it increase in 2025?

How much have welfare pensions increased?

Pensions increased between January 3 and 26, 2024, in the January-February dispersion, as part of the commitment made by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in March 2021.

According to the head of the secretariat, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, the increase was 25% for 2024. The amounts were modified as follows:

Pension for Senior Citizens
From 4,800 pesos to 6,000 pesos bimonthly

Pension for People with Disabilities
From 2,950 to 3,100 pesos bimonthly

Will they increase in 2025?

At the moment There is no official announcement of what the amounts allocated for pensions will be for 2025. The official figure will be determined by the 2025 Federal Expenditure Budget (PEF). This is part of the Economic and Budget Package, which will be published on November 15, 2024, according to the Chamber of Deputies.

For its part, the Congress of the Union will have until the end of the ordinary session period to approve it (December 15). Although it could also agree to an extraordinary period, in order to have more time to debate the Economic Package 2025 (December 31).
