Conatel opens investigation into hate messages transmitted on social media

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced that the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) will open a legal-administrative investigation into the people who have sent hate messages through WhatsApp and other social networks.

From the Miraflores Palace, where he received the march of the elderly, Maduro reiterated that the App WhatsApp It acts as a spy center to provide information to the United States. “The WhatsApp application belongs to the enemies of Venezuela, to the imperialism of the world. They know everything you write,” he said.

Claiming that WhatsApp is the center of the conspiracy against the Venezuelan people, President Maduro reported that the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) suggested banning it in the country, since it has the power to regulate its use. However, the national leader assured that he did not agree with the measure and that he preferred to leave it “up to the conscience of each person.”

“Measures must be taken by everyone at home, everyone can write whatever they want, but do not let them spy on you via WhatsApp or threaten you anymore, give me the phones that are from Venezuela for the “knock-knock” operation. We all have those who used Venezuelan phones and we will go after them one by one with law, justice and order,” he said.

He also said that he trusts in the “conscience of each Venezuelan” and that they will make the decision to uninstall the direct messaging service.

“We can also communicate with applications like Telegram and Wechat. It is for the safety of the family, the community and the country. It is voluntary,” the President urged for the second consecutive day, since on Monday, during the broadcast of his program Con Maduro+, he uninstalled the App from his phone and said: “Bye Whatsapp, we don’t want you anymore.”

He then instructed the Minister for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, to initiate training courses for the use of these other platforms.

Maduro said that WhatsApp gave the drug-trafficking terrorists from Colombia and Miami the entire records of millions of CLAP leaders to intimidate the People’s Power.

He stressed that the coup d’état that has been attempted against Venezuela is a coup from social networks, to divide and fill with hatred, and that has criminal and paid gangs as its vanguard.
