He Social Registry of Households (RSH) is a fundamental tool for determining the financial aid that the State of Chile offers. This system allows the needs of the population to be identified and segmented into different vulnerability groups. Registering for the RSH can open the door to various benefits, some of which may be less known. Below, we present three of them.
The Basic Solidarity Disability Pension, also known as “disability pension”, is a benefit This is a financial benefit for people between 18 and 64 years of age who can prove they are disabled. This subsidy provides a monthly aid equivalent to the Universal Guaranteed Pension (PGU), although it is specifically aimed at those who, due to their health condition, cannot work. To be eligible for this benefit, it is necessary to belong to the 80% most vulnerable according to the RSH and undergo an evaluation by a medical commission that certifies the disability.
The Golden Wedding Bonus is another significant benefit for those enrolled in the Social Registry of HouseholdsThis bonus is intended for couples who have been married for 50 years, granting them a joint amount of $425,360 pesos, equivalent to $212,680 pesos for each spouse. It is both a symbolic and economic recognition for couples who have been together for half a century. Requirements include not being separated and belonging to the most vulnerable 80% of the RSH. Couples have one year from the date of their anniversary to apply for this benefit.
The Rental Subsidy for Senior Citizens and People with Disabilities is an aid intended for those senior citizens and people with disabilities who do not have a definitive housing solution. This benefit covers between 5% and 10% of the monthly rental cost, thus alleviating a considerable financial burden.
To apply for this benefitit is necessary to belong to the most vulnerable 70% of the RSH and meet the requirements established by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MINVU). This benefit is available for application until August 30, 2024.
