The Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) will analyze on Wednesday, August 14 and could approve the ruling regarding the final count of the presidential election and make the declaration of validity.
Presiding Judge Mónica Soto Fregoso announced that she will convene a solemn session to present the majority certificate to Claudia Sheinbaum, which will take place on Thursday the 15th, thus concluding the 2024 electoral process so that she can take office on October 1st.
At the public session on August 7, the TEPJF’s upper chamber will also resolve most of the latest challenges filed by the PRD against the elections for deputies and senators, which were previously rejected or declared unfounded by the regional chambers.
With this, the option that the Aztec sun resorted to in order to add more votes and not lose the national registry disappears, because although the regional chambers decided to make modifications to the results in about 200 polling stations in the country, this does not help it stay alive.
The regional chambers had until August 3 to resolve the more than 800 complaints filed against the elections for deputies and senators, so the higher chamber is one step away from concluding the appeals that the PRD filed after disagreeing with the sentences handed down by these chambers.
Another matter that the higher court will have to resolve is the one that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador challenged against the ruling of the specialized regional court, which determined the existence of personalized promotion, violation of the principles of impartiality, neutrality and equity, improper use of public resources, as well as non-compliance with precautionary measures, for not having refrained from making statements related to electoral issues during the development of morning conferences between May and October 2023.
