Paulino Moya: «The death of Elvis Samuel Medina leaves immense pain in the evangelical community»

Obispo Elvis Samuel Medina

Santo Domingo, DR.- The Reverend Domingo Paulino Moya, president of the Christian Civic and Political Opinion Roundtable, lamented the death of the bishop Elvis Samuel Medina, whom he defined as “a humble statesman”, and prayed to God to accompany his family in this difficult time.

In a message posted on Instagram, Paulino Moya stressed that he had strong ties with Bishop Medina, and said that his death has left “immense pain within the evangelical congregations of the country.”

“My family and I join in the pain that the Medina family is going through, as the minister of Jesus Christ is briefly separated Elvis Samuel Medina, who departed to the presence of the Lord this morning.”

“On behalf of the Ministry Jesus is Healing and Eternal Life, we inform his wife, Dorkas de Medina, and his children who survive him, that we are at their side in prayer so that the almighty God will overcome this painful loss, and give them an abundance of peace in this difficult moment of pain.

“Bishop Medina was a statesman who knew how to maintain humility and gratitude while holding high office in the Government of the Republic and in the ecclesiastical sphere; we were united by divine and personal affections. His departure to the presence of the Lord has generated immense pain within the evangelical congregations of the country, and in other sectors of national and foreign life, due to his wise and good pastoral and state management, highlighting his caring affection of which we bear witness.

“We are very confident that this man of God leaves a legacy worthy of being followed by present and future generations.

“Rest in peace, dear friend Medina. My family and I will meet you at the great dinner with the Messiah Jesus Christ.”

Elvis Samuel Medina, a native of San Juan, was a pastor and during the governments of Danilo Medina (2012-20), served as the President’s liaison with the Christian community.

He also chaired the board of directors of the Dominican Church Social Service and founded the Christian Dialogue and Representation Board.
