Brazilians Isaquias Queiroz and Jacky Godmann won the quarterfinals of the C2 500-meter canoe sprint event with a time of 1min38s78. The result qualified them for the semifinals, which will be held on Thursday (8), at 6:20 am (Brasília time). The final is scheduled for the same day, at 8:20 am.

Earlier, in the first race of the day, Jacky and Isaquias competed in the qualifiers, an event that qualified the first two boats directly for the semifinals. The Brazilian duo finished in third place in the heat, with a time of 1min39sec38, and therefore had to participate in the quarterfinals.
In Paris, Isaquias Queiroz will also compete in the C1 1000m, an event in which he is the current Olympic gold medalist. The qualifiers will be on Wednesday (7), starting at 6:40 am. The athlete from Bahia already has four medals in the Olympic Games. In 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, he won two silver medals, in the C1 200m and in the C1 1000m; and the bronze in the C2 1000m, alongside Erlon Silva. In 2021, in the Tokyo edition, Isaquias won the gold medal in the C1 1000m.
