Reaction of the authorities
Colonel William Alberto Zubieta Pardo, commander of the Urabá Police, announced that the criminal investigation section for children and adolescents is carrying out all necessary procedures to identify and capture those responsible for this heinous crime. Zubieta Pardo assured that all available resources are being used to ensure that justice is done and that the guilty parties pay for this act.

Yarleidis Valoyes Mosquera, Secretary of Women and Gender Equality of El Carmen del Darién, expressed her strong rejection of violence against women and girls.
In a statement, Valoyes Mosquera stressed the urgent need to confront and eradicate this type of violence, and assured that her office will work tirelessly to protect the fundamental rights of women in the region.
