The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that tomorrow, Tuesday, a mostly sunny sky is expected during the morning hours due to the incidence of an air mass with low humidity content.
However, he said that from midday there will be isolated showers in San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, San Cristóbal and Greater Santo Domingo.
In addition, Indomet said that for the provinces of Azua, San Juan, Elías Piña, Dajabón, Independencia and Bahoruco, there will be moderate showers at times with thunderstorms and possible gusts of wind, due to the permanence of the trough in the upper levels of the troposphere located over our territory.
The agency also noted that an area of showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave located near the Lesser Antilles arc currently has a 10% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours and a 30% chance in the next 7 days.
Indomet also reported that Debby was downgraded to a tropical storm and is located about 55 kilometers west of Lake City, Florida. It has maximum sustained winds of 110 kph with higher gusts. It is moving north/northeast at about 13 kph. Due to its position and movement, Debby does not pose any danger to the Dominican Republic.
