This is how the Sandinista dictatorship is attacking the children and grandchildren of Carlos Fonseca, founder of the FSLN

Dictators Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo have taken harsh reprisals against the children of Carlos Fonseca Amador, the founder and historical leader of the Sandinista Front. Carlos Fonseca Terán, the eldest son, was recently sentenced to house arrest, and they had previously stripped the legal status of an NGO headed by Tania Fonseca, Fonseca Amador’s other daughter, all this while the children of the tyrants are gaining more and more power within the Sandinista party and the government.

According to information obtained by the media outlet Confidencial, a few days ago Carlos Fonseca Terán was interrogated by police officers who confiscated his cell phone and computer and placed him under de facto house arrest, so the Sandinista militant and staunch defender of Ortega is confined to his home in Lomas del Valle, Managua, unable to leave unless authorized by his captors.

The same fate would have befallen his wife, the lawyer Arlen Cuadra Núñez, former judge of the National Labor Court of Appeals, who was removed from that position in March 2023, shortly before the purges within the Judiciary ordered by Murillo began, which reached the presiding judge and Ortega loyalist, Alba Luz Ramos, purged and also confined to “country for prison.”

According to Confidencial, the reprisals against Fonseca Terán would be related to a WhatsApp group, supposedly called “La Comuna”, where the marginalized Sandinista militant would be interacting with other professional Sandinistas, dedicated mainly to teaching at the UNAN and Casimiro Sotelo universities (located in the stolen UCA), some of whom would already be detained and under investigation at different police stations.

Among the contacts of the WhatsApp group already imprisoned are Rigoberto Ramos, Ernesto Paredes, Frank Matus and Christian Eduardo Bermúdez.

Repression extends to all descendants of the supreme leader of Sandinismo

The reprisals ordered by the Ortega-Murillos have extended to the descendants of the founder of the FSLN. Carlos Manuel Fonseca López, son of Fonseca Terán, was also fired, allegedly arbitrarily, from a position he had held for eight years at the ProNicaragua Investment Agency, linked to Laureano “El Chigüin” Ortega Murillo, son of the dictators.

Tania Fonseca Terán, the youngest daughter of Daniel Ortega’s political and military leader until 1976, the year of his death in combat against the National Guard (GN) of the former dictator, Anastacio Somoza, has also suffered the repressive attacks of the Ortega-Murillo family, who have betrayed all former loyalists to impose themselves above all else, only the dictatorial family.

On October 24, 2023, the Ministry of the Interior (now the Ministry of the Interior) cancelled the legal status of the Non-Profit Organization (OSFL) “Asociación de Médicos Especialistas San Francisco” (Amesfra), directed by Dr. Tania Fonseca Terán, the youngest daughter of Fonseca Amador. This OSFL was made up of gynecologists, obstetricians, perinatologists, pediatricians, surgeons, dentists, nutritionists and gastroenterologists, without any political connotation, but the dictatorship found it dangerous and eliminated it.

And more recently, Pedro Munguía Fonseca, Tania’s son, was also fired from a position he held in the Judiciary. The marginalization of the Fonseca Teráns has been notable in the absence of both in the activities dedicated to their father, mainly Carlos Jr., who has been a staunch defender of Ortega.

Children of dictators at the top of power

While the tyrants Ortega and Murillo order retaliatory actions against the descendants of their party founder, they assign ever greater quotas of power to their own children, subordinating to them even historical leaders, former guerrillas and current military and police chiefs as well as state ministers, who appear timid when they are in the presence of the children of the dictators, mainly Laureano Ortega, who is seen as the first in the line of dynastic succession after Murillo.

Known as El Chigüin Ortega Murillo, he has been appointed by his parents as presidential advisor for investments, and has also been appointed representative of his parents’ government as the highest representative before China and Russia. He has received “full powers” on different occasions to represent the State of Nicaragua in the signing of trade agreements and even as the highest representative of the FSLN in political relations with the Chinese Communist Party.

For his part, another son, Daniel Edmundo Ortega Murillo, has been appointed by his dictator parents as coordinator of the media of the citizen power, representing the chain of government propaganda media that are mostly owned by the family in power.

Meanwhile, Camila Ortega Murilo is the coordinator of the national commission for creative economy, which has a state budget and is used to run political campaigns in favor of the regime.
