A tragedy has plunged a family into mourning in the district of San Juan, in the province of Maynas, after a 12-year-old girl died after receiving an electric shock when handling a hair dryer while her body was wet.
According to information provided by public safety agents, it was the neighbors who alerted about what had happened after hearing the minor’s cries for help.
Upon arriving at the scene, the security guards tried to revive her while they transferred her to the Iquitos Hospital, but unfortunately, the girl arrived lifeless.
“What we are told is that she came out of the shower, was wet, and grabbed a hairdryer. It seems that she received the electric shock there, which caused the damage. We have given her first aid. When we arrived at the scene, she was without vital signs.”a security guard who responded to the emergency told RPP.
The victim’s family said the teenager was left home alone while her grandmother and mother were at work. Apparently, after taking a shower, the girl did not completely dry her body before reaching for the dryer, which triggered the fatal electric shock.
In light of this painful loss, the girl’s family has requested financial support to cover the funeral expenses, as they do not have sufficient resources to cope with this difficult situation.
