The Governments of Venezuela and Brazil established an agreement regarding the custody of the premises of the diplomatic missions of Argentina and Brazil. Peru In our country, reported the Chancellor of the Republic, Yvan Gil.
In a statement published on his social media account X, the head of the Foreign Affairs portfolio explained that the agreement provides that Brazil will also be responsible for the custody of assets, archiving and representing the interests of these nations in Venezuelan territory.
“The Government of Venezuela and the Government of Brazil have the pleasure of informing that they have reached the present agreement so that the custody of the premises of the Argentine and Peruvian Diplomatic Missions, including their assets and archives, as well as the representation of their interests and their nationals in Venezuelan territory, will be represented as of August 5, 2024 by the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Caracas,” the Foreign Minister posted on the social network.
It is important to remember that these actions occurred after the Venezuelan government, in a sovereign action and out of respect for our independence, broke relations with Peru and Argentina after these countries spoke out in favor of the far-right coup plans.
“I have expelled all diplomatic personnel and broken relations with fascist governments, enough is enough. Venezuela must be respected, now,” said the national president, Nicolás Maduro, on July 31.
