The mayors of Piura announce a mobilization to Lima due to the failure to transfer 500 million soles to execute projects included in the ‘Reconstruction with Changes’ Plan.
The District mayors of the Piura region They have announced a Mass mobilization towards the city of Lima in the coming days, because the Executive has failed to transfer approximately 500 million soles necessary for the completion of works and projects.
This measure comes after an emergency meeting in which the association of district mayors of Piura expressed their discontent and concern about the lack of interest of the government led by the President Dina Boluarte.
Rudy Palacios Pariatón, president of the Association of District Mayors of Piuradeclared: “We are very indignant because the population demands that we execute the projects that were included in the ‘Reconstruction with Changes’ Plan, but due to the lack of transfer they remained stagnant. We are talking about a total of 100 projects in the areas of education, health, road infrastructure, and agriculture; the only thing we see is that there is no political predisposition on the part of the President Dina Boluarte”.
The mayors have pointed out that the requests sent to the Ministry of Economy They have always been rejected, and they have urged the president to hold an urgent meeting to address the investment needs of local governments. If they are not attended to, they have warned about the possibility of organizing protests together with the communities and populations of the different districts of Piura.
