Amid the escalation of tension in the Middle East, the Brazilian Embassy in Beirut advises Brazilians living in Lebanon or passing through to consider leaving the country “by their own means, until normality returns.” Brazilian Embassy in Lebanon asks Brazilians to leave the country

In a statement, the embassy also asks that Brazilians who are not in Lebanon do not travel to the country at this time. “For nationals who consider it essential to stay in Lebanon, avoid staying in the south of the country, in border areas or in other areas of recognized risk.”

In the statement, the embassy also recommends that Brazilians adopt all the security guidelines suggested by Lebanese authorities, paying attention to areas considered at risk, and reinforcing precautionary measures.

Other guidelines listed by the embassy include not taking part in crowds and protests; trying to stay informed about the current situation in the country and following communication channels; checking that your passport is valid for at least six months; and making sure you have a Brazilian nationality document (such as a birth certificate) and/or a valid Brazilian or Lebanese identity card.
