Lula travels to Chile to sign bilateral agreements

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will travel to Santiago, Chile, this Sunday (4), where he will fulfill a series of commitments during a state visit to the country. The agenda will include political meetings, participation in a business forum and the signing of several bilateral agreements.Lula travels to Chile to sign bilateral agreements

On Monday morning (5), Lula will be received at the La Moneda Palace by Chilean President Gabriel Boric. The two will have a private meeting, followed by an extended meeting – with their respective offices -, signing of acts and a statement to the press.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at least 15 agreements are ready to be signed, in various areas ranging from science and technologydefense, human rights and even trade and investment relations.

After lunch, the Brazilian president will be received by the heads of the Chilean Judiciary and Legislative branches, and is expected to meet with representatives of Latam, the largest Chilean company operating in Brazil, and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). Later in the day, Lula will participate in the closing ceremony of the Chile-Brazil Business Forum, which is expected to bring together around 500 leaders from the public and private sectors to discuss issues involving bilateral trade between the two countries.

The following day, a meeting is scheduled with the mayor of Santiago, Irací Hassler, and with the former Chilean president, Ricardo Lagos.
