Maduro: «We have captured 2,000 prisoners and from there they go to Tocorón and Tocuyito»

The president accused the opposition of having hired supposedly “new generation” groups that were trained. “80% of the nearly 2,000 people arrested were found to have participated in acts of vandalism,” he said.

Nicolás Maduro said this Saturday, August 3, from a rally in Miraflores that more than 2,000 people have been arrested and assured that they will receive the “maximum punishment.” He stressed that there will be no forgiveness, “this time there will be Tocorón.”

In this regard, Maduro said that the opposition regrouped around a global plan, “they are intolerance. Unfortunately, there is a part of society that had to see to believe, that saw the criminal attack and the groups hired to attack hospitals, universities and schools.”

The president accused the opposition of having hired supposedly “new generation” groups that were trained. “80% of the nearly 2,000 arrested were found to have participated in acts of vandalism. They were trained in the United States, Peru and Chile.”

«A criminal ambush»

Maduro said that the “right” launched an ambush prepared 11 months ago, “they want to tell the world that there was an insurrection, they also wanted to intimidate the common people, so that they would not come out to defend their right to peace.”

“That is the truth. When they do not participate in elections, they call for sabotage and conspire. We have already seen this film and we know the ending: the good guys win. We will win with greater force, this is the third season; the extreme right has been defeated.”

The ruler asked people who do not follow him not to get carried away and to respect the rules of the game, “not to fall into violence,” he said.

Maduro threatened presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia after he failed to appear before the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to sign a document respecting the decision made by the Electoral Chamber regarding the results of July 28, and denied that he allegedly “appeared” on social media nine hours later.

“The extremist sectors will not return, neither by fair means nor by foul. Yesterday, the United States said that the records they handle indicate that the right won. Are we a colony of the gringos? They want to impose the sad history of Guaidó again,” said Maduro.
