Teachers who passed the competition will be integrated into the educational system this school year

Santo Domingo. – With the beginning of the National Day of Summer training for all teachers next Monday, August 5th, Ministry of Education (Minerd) will formally begin the activities of the 2024-2025 School Calendar, in view of the return to the classrooms of more of 2 million students in the public system pre-university on Monday 26th.

This was reported by the Vice Minister of Teacher Accreditation and Certification of Minerd, Francisco D’Óleo, who specified that this training is focused on the structural changes that the Dominican Republic’s curriculum has undergone to improve skills in three fundamental areas: writing, mathematics and science.

He recalled that, with the results of the 2022 Pisa Test, which precisely evaluates aspects of these curricular areas, the country experienced a significant qualitative leap. “The country began a higher transition of ascent in improving the quality of education,” he said.

He reported that the Ministry of Education is currently in the process of appointing the teachers who passed the competition and who will be integrated into the pre-university education system starting on August 26 in the schools that require it.

“We guarantee significant and accelerated improvements in student learning in this new school year,” said the deputy minister.
