President Andrés Manuel López Obrador rejected that the initiative to reform the Judicial Branch (PJ) is a consequence of being upset because the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) did not allow the National Guard to be part of the Army, as Minister Juan Luis González Alcántara Carrancá assured, in one of the analysis forums on the subject.
In his morning press conference he said: This minister (he did not mention his name) claims that this is why I was upset. No, I am upset because they have been busy releasing alleged criminals and because the judiciary is completely ruined. Corruption prevails, with honourable exceptions, and reform is needed.

Regarding the appointment of former SCJN minister Arturo Záldívar as general coordinator of Policy and Government of the Presidency, which will be headed by Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, he said: I am very happy and satisfied with the appointments that the president-elect is making. All the appointments are very good.

Lopez Obrador said that Arturo Zaldívar is a lawyer First-rate, he is a professional, he is knowledgeable about the law, very experienced. In addition, when he was president of the Court he did everything possible to clean the Judiciary of corruption; nothing more than a very advanced cancer that requires a major intervention to be able to remove it, and to sanitize and clean that sick body that is the Judiciary.
