Cae abatido «Carlos la U», buscado por homicidio

Police reported this Saturday that “Carlos la U”, an alleged criminal who was wanted for homicide in the province of La Romana, was shot dead in Azua.

In a preliminary report, the police indicate that Carlos Manuel Medrano Polonio (Carlos la U) was shot dead after facing police members from the Eastern Regional Investigation Subdirectorate (DICRIM) in Azua.

He added that a colleague, identified as Miguel Ángel Severino Cordero (Bebé), was injured and arrested by the officers.

It indicates that both “Carlos U” and Bebé were wanted by police with arrest warrants for his alleged participation in the murder of Erick Junior Santana José (Viejo), 21 years old, and the injuries caused to Samuel Siprian Castillo (Black), on July 17, 2024.

The preliminary report states that DICRIM agents moved to the province of Azua after receiving intelligence information about the presence of the suspects in that locality.

It was under these circumstances that the alleged criminals, upon noticing the presence of the agents, “Carlos la U” attacked them with a CZ brand pistol, caliber 9mm, with the serial number altered (occupied), seeing the need to retaliate the aggression, resulting in the injuries that caused his death.

Likewise, his partner Santana José was arrested after the confrontation and will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes. Both from La Romana.
