Presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia asked the National Electoral Council (CNE) on the night of Friday, August 2, to comply with the legal mandate and publish the minutes of the vote count for the presidential elections of July 28.
«In defense of the popular will expressed in a forceful manner on July 28 and to prevent that will from being ignored, I decided not to appear at the summons made yesterday afternoon to appear today before the TSJ,” González published in a statement on X.

González reminded the institution that “it is its duty to guarantee the transparency and reliability of the electoral processes, without any omission on its part and eventual usurpation of functions by another State body.”
The opposition consensus candidate called on the CNE to “seek solutions and not the aggravation of problems” and assured that they are willing to seek spaces for dialogue and understanding. Finally, he pointed out that “he will remain firm in his purpose of respecting the will of the people that was already expressed on July 28.”
On the night of Friday, August 2, the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice gave the CNE three days to submit the minutes of the scrutiny of the electoral tables at the national level, the minutes of the final total of the electoral process, the minutes of the adjudication and the minutes of the proclamation of the aforementioned process. The institution also asked the electoral body to provide “all the evidence” related to the alleged cyber attack that the CNE’s computer system had suffered.
