“It has been the honor of our lives that our music becomes part of yours.“In every club, on every massive tour, and in moments both grand and private, you have given us a place on the soundtrack of your lives,” the band stated, through their X account, as a prelude to the announcement of their retirement.
“We’ve always wanted to blow your mind when we perform. As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months working tirelessly to make his voice back to where it was before your injury. We have seen him struggle despite having the best medical team at his side. Sadly, it is clear that A complete recovery from your vocal injury is not possible. We have taken a dheartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision as a band of brothers, to retire from touring,” the post reads.
The voice of the band’s iconic vocalist marks the decision. Steven Tyler had suffered a fractured larynx in 2023, during the Peace Out tour, which had to be suspended.
“We are beyond words and grateful for everyone who was inspired to ride with us one last time. Grateful to our expert team, our incredible crew and the thousands of talented people who have made our historic races possible. One last thanks to you, the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music at full volume, now and always. Dream on (Sounds). You have made our dreams come true“, Aerosmith concludes their emotional publication.
It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history.
