The Academic Council of the Technological University of Panama (UTP) published this Wednesday Resolution No. CACAD-R-02-2022, by which it authorized classes in face-to-face and non-face-to-face modality, during the first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
They will allow a capacity of 100% of the capacity of the closed physical spaces where they carry out face-to-face activities, complying with the provisions in this regard issued by the Ministry of Health.
Third, fourth and fifth year students who do not have the complete vaccination schedule against covid-19, will not be able to attend their classes in person and, failing that, the teacher will provide them with the synthesized subject program to guide them in their learning. Autonomous, with the elements established by the Academic Vice President.
The current virtual subjects that are taught through the technological platform may continue to be offered.
While the first and second year students, at the Panama and regional headquarters, will receive all of their theoretical classes in a non-face-to-face manner.
However, all students will take their semester exams in person.
Professors who do not have the complete vaccination schedule will not be able to teach face-to-face classes and will be assigned, in person, to research projects or administrative academics in the Faculties, Regional Centers or Research Centers, with finished products or results.
In the case of theoretical-practical subjects that include workshops or laboratories, the Faculties and the Regional Centers will indicate the experiences that need to be carried out in person.
Students of professional postgraduate programs will receive their classes remotely and will also take their exams and other evaluations remotely.
However, at the discretion of the Faculties, face-to-face activities may be incorporated into those programs that they deem appropriate.
In the case of scientific master’s degrees and doctoral programs, each Faculty will indicate those subjects whose courses, laboratories or workshops must be carried out in person. They will also define the modality of application of the exams and other evaluations.
