The United States National Hurricane Center (NHC) alerted that the phenomenon could move near or over Cuba throughout the day and then emerge over the Straits of Florida tonight or Saturday.
Starting this Friday, there will be a significant increase in the probability of showers, rain and thunderstorms in eastern and central Cuba, which may become strong and locally intense, a situation that will extend from tomorrow, Saturday, until Sunday to the western region.

The Cuban Meteorological Institute predicted a season “very active” cyclone in the coming months. Cuban experts predict the formation of some 20 tropical storms throughout the North Atlantic basin, of which 11 could reach hurricane category, according to probability analyses.
Of the total number of tropical cyclones, 14 could develop in the Atlantic ocean area, four in the Caribbean Sea and two others in the Gulf of Mexico.
