The content of the electoral contentious appeal delivered by Maduro It is unknown. The TSJ website has problems accessing. In a statement, the president explained that it was an investigation into the alleged attack on the totalization made by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
The Electoral Chamber “should address this attack against the electoral process, this attempted coup d’état using the electoral process, and clarify everything that needs to be clarified,” said the president. He also assured that the Gran Polo Patriótico and the PSUV “are willing to show 100% of the electoral records that are in our hands and I hope that the Electoral Chamber does the same with each candidate and each party. I know what I am telling you, very soon you will find out because the evidence (…) of this plot has already appeared.”
According to the president and standard-bearer of the PSUV, the doubts about the results of Sunday, where the CNE declared him the winner with 51.2% of the votes, and the subsequent demonstrations are part of a “global plot against Venezuela”, in which Edmundo González Urrutia (MUD), one of the 10 presidential candidates, and the opposition leader María Corina Machado, are involved.
Both Machado and González Urrutia have demanded that the CNE publish the disaggregated results of the presidential elections, which include the minutes of the 30,026 voting tables. Both claim that, according to more than 80% of the minutes that they have, the diplomat has won by a wide margin against Maduro.
Candidates Enrique Márquez (Centrados), Javier Bertucci (El Cambio), Claudio Fermín (Soluciones), Antonio Ecarri (Alianza del Lápiz) and Luis Eduardo Martínez (AD judicializada) have joined the request for the CNE to show the minutes that support the totalization and proclamation made by the CNE. For his part, José Brito said he was willing to hand over all the minutes of the scrutiny in his possession.
Also running for the presidential elections were candidates Benjamín Rausseo (Conde), who acknowledged the results, and Daniel Ceballos (Arepa digital), who has not expressed any opinion since the CNE issued the first bulletin early on Monday 29th.
