Money changer robbed of S/ 80,000 by gunfire in Piura

A group of thugs shot at passersby in broad daylight, intercepting a money changer and his wife and snatching his kangaroo bag where he was carrying S/ 80,000 that was to be used to make purchases for the fifteenth birthday party of one of his daughters. This occurred near the bus terminal.

The incident occurred in the afternoon, when the married couple had arrived from the city of Tambogrande to the terminal aboard a white car, to make purchases for their daughter’s party and also to run other errands in Piura.

But they were intercepted by four men on two motorcycles, one of them a black and orange KTM. There, they subdued the money changer, who was from the city of Tambogrande, who was carrying the kangaroo with the money and they snatched it from him despite his attempt to hide it.

In order to intimidate the passengers in the vehicle and passers-by, they even fired several shots and fled at full speed through the area, even though Serenazgo de Castilla agents later tried to follow them in a patrol car, but were not hit.

Given this, the Divincri Police would already have the videos from the surveillance cameras to try to identify the criminals who perpetrated the assault and robbery.
