Maria Corina Machadoopposition leader, addressed the country on the evening of Thursday, August 1, through a video broadcast on his social networks.
He did not refer to his article published in The Wall Street Journal, according to which he is in hiding, but he confirmed that the presidential candidate of the Unitary Platform, Edmundo González Urrutia, won on July 28 and called for continued mobilization.
“Now we are going to get paid, so we must remain firm, mobilized and organized with the pride of having achieved a historic victory on July 28 and the awareness that to get paid we will also go all the way,” Machado said.

“This Saturday, August 3, we will all meet as a family, in all the cities of Venezuela, in Caracas on the main avenue of Las Mercedes, because we are going to pay tribute to each of the heroes who asserted and defended the will of the Venezuelans on July 28, because we are going to assert the truth and the world will see the strength and determination of a society determined to live in freedom,” said Machado.
He asked that on August 3, Flag Day, Venezuelans display the national tricolor in their homes.
