Pants with Huanca prints have attracted attention during this time in Santiago. The first pair of pants with the Huanca flower design was made by designer Malena Flores Sovero ‘Lena’, who in 2023 presented these pants inspired by Huanca culture through her social networks.

Malena Flores is a fashion designer from the district of Muquiyauyo in Jauja, department of Junín. Her designs have a remarkable Andean essence, as reflected in these pants with a print of the Huanca flowers that she unveiled in 2023, in her Allin Warmi collection.

In 2024, these pants have been in high demand due to the print similar to that of the skirts used in Santiago. The designer mentioned at the pants exhibition that it is a collection “to be worn on an ideal occasion, perfect and unique like you.”

Jauja is also an inspiration for her designs, where she has worked with blankets, flowers, hats, scarves, all under the same concept. She also uses the most representative cultural expressions of the Peruvian Amazon.
