Alfredo Romero, director of Foro Penal, reported that, according to information from PNB Zone 7, Boleíta, “75 male detainees, related to post-election demonstrations, were transferred to the Yare III prison.” The defender added that they were verifying whether they were actually there.
Of a group of about 200 people, 75 of them were detained by the National Police in Zone 7, in Boleíta, and were transferred on the night of July 31 to the Yare III Metropolitan Penitentiary Center, located in Miranda state. Several organizations that defend human rights warned that they had not been allowed private defense.

Redes Ayuda pointed out that detainees in Zone 7 are not allowed access to private lawyers. Relatives claim that they are being forced to accept public defenders and recalled that access to private defense is a right.
