The Rio de Janeiro Municipal Health Department has extended the vaccination program against the XBB variant of Covid-19 for people aged 5 and over until next Saturday (2). The purpose is to use the doses of the vaccine that, due to their shelf life, must be administered before the end of their expiration date.
The vaccine against the XBB variant is available at all 238 family clinics and municipal health centers in the city. Residents can also go to the Super Centro Carioca de Vacinação in Botafogo, in the south zone, which is open daily from 8 am to 10 pm, and to the Super Centro Carioca de Vacinação unit at ParkShopping CampoGrande, with opening hours aligned with the shopping center, with service starting at 10 am.
The Secretariat asks that interested parties check the necessary documents and attend vaccination sites as soon as possible to guarantee the dose of the vaccine and contribute to the control of the XBB variant, which is currently in circulation.
The updated COVID-19/XBB vaccine is also administered as a routine immunization for children aged 6 months to 4 years.
